Day 2
DAY 2: ALJEZUR - VILA DO BISPO - SAGRES - ALJEZUR
Aljezur Castle & Pontal Da Carrapateira Guided Hike

The morning opens atop a windswept hill where the ancient walls of Aljezur Castle have stood since the Moorish occupation of the Iberian Peninsula. One of the best-preserved fortresses of its kind in the Algarve, the castle commands sweeping panoramic views over the river estuary and the boundless Atlantic, a setting that makes the region’s layered history feel immediate and alive. A specialist guide brings the site to life, tracing the stories embedded in every stone.

From there, the journey continues to Pontal da Carrapateira, where the drama of the Vicentine Coast reveals itself in full. A guided cliff-top hike follows trails shaped by wind and tide, moving through the rugged, unspoiled landscapes of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, sea stacks, wild headlands, and the deep blue of the ocean stretching to the horizon. It is one of the last truly untouched stretches of coastline in Western Europe, and it shows.

(Driving time from Aljezur to Pontal Da Carrapateira: Approximately 30min).

Lunch is taken at Á Sagres, a beloved local institution perched at the edge of the sea (not included).

Note: This activity is subject to weather conditions and operator availability. Timing may be moved to the morning if required.

As the day draws to a close, toast the end of the day at the southwestern-most point of continental Europe. Cabo de São Vicente is one of the most dramatic viewpoints in Portugal, with the entire Atlantic stretching out before you the perfect setting for a champagne sunset.

(Driving time from Sagres to Aljezur: Approximately 50min).

Return to hotel. We recommend have dinner at the hotel.

Day 3
DAY 3: ALJEZUR - MONCHIQUE – ALJEZUR
Serra de Monchique and Village Garden Hike

Depart from your hotel into the hills of Monchique for an easy 8km hike through a living landscape terraced vegetable garden, ancient rural paths, and the shade of centuries-old alcornoque cork trees lining the way. This is a community still working its land as it always has: locals tend their plots, exchange a warm greeting, and carry on. No performance, no curated experience, just the quiet, fertile soul of the Serra de Monchique, at your own pace. End your morning with time for lunch at A Charrete, a Monchique institution beloved by locals for exactly what it is unfussy, deeply regional cooking done with conviction. The kind of table where the food tells you more about a place than any guidebook ever could. Lunch | A Charrete, Monchique (not included)

(Driving time from Aljezur to Monchique: Approximately 1hr

Olive Oil & Medronho Tasting

After lunch, your guided visit takes you on the full journey into the Serra de Monchique hills to the village of Alferce, home to Lagar dos Pardieiros, one of Portugal’s most quietly revered small-batch olive oil producers. This is a family legacy, now in its third generation, built on over four decades of uncompromising craft. Deliberately kept small, choosing depth over volume, every bottle reflects that commitment.

The experience concludes with a private tasting of their signature oils alongside “medronho”, the region’s legendary spirit distilled from the wild strawberry tree. Three generations of passion in a single pour.

(Driving time from Monchique to Alferce: Approximately 20min).

After the tour, return to the hotel.
(Driving time from Alferce to Aljezur: Approximately 1hr).

Day 4
DAY 4: ALJEZUR – SILVES - FARO
Silves Castle & Old Town

Travelling from Aljezur to Silves, the town invites travelers into a world of red sandstone walls and ancient echoes. Its layered history is steeped in Arabic influence, from ingenious water systems to the cultural sophistication that once made it a center of poetry, science, and learning. Explore the imposing Silves Castle, which offers panoramic views over citrus groves, visit the Gothic Silves Cathedral, constructed over a former mosque, and uncover centuries of regional heritage at the Municipal Archaeological Museum, housed around a medieval cistern that reflects Arabic engineering mastery. The morning ends at the local market, where vendors, locals, and the scent of fresh produce bring the town to life in the most unscripted way possible.

Lunch is taken at Morgado do Quintão (not included).

(Driving time from Aljezur to Silves: Approximately 50min).

Tile Painting Workshop

After lunch, settle into one of Portugal’s most intimate artistic traditions. In a hands-on workshop in the heart of Silves, you’ll learn the art of azulejo tile painting, a craft woven into the identity of the country, from palace walls to railway stations. Leave with something made by your own hand, and a connection to a heritage that no museum can quite replicate.

After the tour, private transfer to 3HB Hotel Faro in Faro.

1 (one) Double Room – 3 nights of accommodation with Breakfast.

(Driving time from Silves to Faro: Approximately 1hr).

Day 5
DAY 5: FARO – OLHÃO – FARO
Olhão Visit & Ria Formosa Islands, Ilha Da Culatra & Silvia’s Table

Departing from your hotel, the journey heads towards Olhão, one of the Algarve’s most authentic and often overlooked corners. Upon arrival, explore the town’s bustling market and the characterful old quarter, featuring distinctive North African-influenced architecture and a maze of narrow, cube-shaped streets.

(Driving time from Faro to Olhão: Approximately 25min).

From Olhão, board an embarkation into the shimmering channels of Ria Formosa Natural Park, one of Portugal’s most biodiverse coastal sanctuaries, where tidal flats, hidden waterways, and pristine islands unfold at every turn.

Your destination is Culatra Island, a working fishing village and home to generations of oyster farmers who have cultivated these waters with quiet mastery. Here you’ll meet the people behind the craft, hearing their stories as you watch the careful, time-honored harvesting process unfold before you.

The highlight is lunch at Silvia’s house, one of the most singular experiences this itinerary holds. Silvia is the living heart of this community: a guardian of the island’s history and a fierce protector of its fishermen’s legacy. At her table, freshly harvested oysters sit alongside honest, soulful homemade dishes, paired with crisp local white wine. It is the kind of meal and the kind of encounter that stays with you long after you leave.

Cooking Workshop at Tertúlia Algarvia

Return transfer to Faro, with free time upon arrival at your hotel to rest or explore the city at leisure.

In the evening, a private cooking workshop at Tertúlia Algarvia offers a convivial and hands-on introduction to the flavors and techniques of Algarvian cuisine. Immerse yourself in the region’s culinary heritage by learning to prepare the iconic Cataplana, a traditional seafood stew cooked in its signature copper vessel. Bringing together the freshest catches of the day, including clams, prawns, fish, and aromatic herbs, the workshop guides you through the art of layering flavors and mastering the techniques that make this dish a beloved Algarve classic. The experience ends with a shared meal, savoring your creation alongside regional wines and lively stories from the kitchen, the perfect way to close a day spent discovering the region’s food culture from sea to table. Dinner included.

Day 6
DAY 6: FARO – OLHÃO – TAVIRA - FARO
E-Bike Journey EuroVelo 1 to Tavira

Depart from 3HB Hotel Faro towards Olhão, where the day shifts to a different pace entirely. From here, set off on a private e-bike journey along EuroVelo 1 one of Europe’s great long-distance cycling routes, following the coastline eastward through open salt marshes, tidal flats, and the fishing villages, where the rhythm of the Eastern Algarve reveals itself quietly, at exactly the right speed.

Your destination is Tavira, one of the Algarve’s most elegant and least compromised towns. Its Roman bridge, whitewashed churches, and unhurried riverside atmosphere invite you to slow down further. Time here is yours.

Lunch is taken at the Pousada Convento de Tavira, set within a beautifully restored 16th-century convent. Regional cuisine, centuries of quiet history, and a setting that feels entirely deserved after a morning on the road. (lunch not included)

Return transfer to 3HB Hotel Faro.

(Driving time from Tavira to Faro: Approximately 40min).
