Detailed description

Day 1
Panama City

Upon arrival to Panama, private transfer to Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo Hotel in Panama City.

Day 2
Panama City
Half Day Historical Panama City Tour

Meet your guide in the morning and head to the ruins of Old Panama, and trace back the colonial roots of Panama City. You will have the opportunity to visit the cathedral tower to take in the views of the city and visit the Old Panama City Museum to get a deeper understanding of this Central American nation’s history. Continue to the old city compound, the famous Casco Antiguo, and make your way down the picturesque narrow lanes. Visit landmarks such as the Flat Arch, The Cathedral, Las Bovedas and the French Plaza, and learn about the ill-fated attempt of the French to construct a canal through the isthmus. All the while, listen to your guide describe the events that led to the establishment of the capital in its current location.

Your tour concludes with a private transfer back to your accommodation.

Day 3
Panama City
Gatun Lake Jungle Boat Tour

Early in the morning your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to begin your journey to the Soberanía National Park. As you leave the Panama City limits, buildings will slowly be replaced by secondary and primary rainforest. You will pass the former Fort Clayton, Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks before entering the park.

Here you will board a boat and head off on an adventure across Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal passing by monumental cargo ships transiting the waterway. Along the way, you may spot green iguanas and three-toed sloth resting on tree branches, crocodiles and ospreys in the hunt for peacock bass, snail kite and keel-billed toucan among other wildlife can we observed.

The boat will circle rainforest covered islands, allowing us to observe and search for the mantled howler monkey, white-faced capuchin, and Geoffroy’s tamarin.

Panama Canal & City Helicopter Tour

A Panama Canal and City helicopter tour is a breathtaking way to explore Panama’s most iconic landmarks. The tour usually lasts around 45-55 minutes, providing ample time to see the city’s most famous sights and the Panama Canal.

The highlight of the tour is the awe-inspiring Panama Canal, one of the world’s most impressive engineering feats. As you fly over the canal, you’ll be able to see the locks, gates, and dams that allow ships to pass between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Throughout the tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take stunning photos and capture memories that will last a lifetime.

As you go back to the helipad, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning aerial views of Panama City’s modern skyline, including the Financial District and the Cinta Costera waterfront promenade. Your pilot will provide interesting facts about the city’s history and culture, adding depth to your experience.

Day 4
Panama City
Hiking Soberania National Park – Pipeline Road

Early in the morning your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to begin your journey to the Soberania National Park. As you leave the Panama City limits, buildings will slowly be replaced by secondary and primary rainforest. You will pass the former Fort Clayton, Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks before entering the park. This will be a 45-minute drive along the scenic Gamboa Road to one of the many trailheads waiting for you to explore. Your hiking tour will be tailored to your physical abilities and interests. The Soberania National Park is one of the most accessible national parks in Panama, known for both birdwatching and wildlife observation.

Day 5
Panama City
Full Day Emberá Indigenous Encounter

Early in the morning you will be picked up your hotel and transferred to El Corotu; on the shores of Madden Lake. Here we will board a motorized piragua (dugout canoe) and travel through dense jungle up the Chagres River to one of the Embera indigenous villages for the day experience.

The boat journey takes you through the 320,000-acre Chagres National Park, which is the largest of the National Parks protecting the Panama Canal Watershed.  Along the Chagres River, you may be able to spot the little blue and green heron, great egret, anhinga, neotropical cormorant and green kingfishers, and ospreys flying above.

Upon our arrival at the Embera village, we will be welcomed with traditional dancing and music. You will learn about fascinating Embera traditions and their close relationship with nature. They are master artisans, famous for their woven baskets and masks, as well as their qualitative wooden carvings of cocobolo and intricate tagua.

There will be handcrafts available for sale and you will have the chance to be painted with the traditional jagua, a natural dye the Embera use to adorn their bodies. After a traditional Embera lunch we will head back to Panama City.

Day 6
Panama City / Bocas del Toro

At appropriate time, private transfer to the airport for the local flight to Bocas del Toro. Upon arrival at Bocas del Toro airport, transfer to La Coralina Island House.

Breakfast. Free day to enjoy some of the activities that La Coralina has to offer. We recommend taking Yoga and meditation classes, included in your stay, or reserve massages and treatments at the Spa (not included)

You can also have lunch at La Coralina Restaurant & Lounge Bar or at the Beach Club. (Lunch not included).

Day 8
Bocas del Toro
Half Day private Sailing onboard the Don Juan

Day 9
Bocas del Toro

At appropriate time, transfer from hotel to the Bocas del Toro airport for your flight to Panamá City. Upon arrival, private transfer from the Local airport to the International Airport for your flight back home.
