The first inhabitants were smugglers trading illegal goods who took advantage of the many labyrinths of little rivers and isles to hide, evading paying customs taxes. Towards the end of the 19th century, it became a favorite destination for recreation of the high-class of Buenos Aires. The tour includes navigating different rivers, channels, and streams of the Delta, discovering its many isles covered with abundant subtropical vegetation, picturesque houses, rowing and yacht clubs, old residences, and wooden houses built over piles to protect them from constant floods.
