Explorations in the Sacred Valley have been designed to provide travelers with an in-depth experience of the Inca civilization’s cradle, allowing them to fully immerse and go deeper into the territory’s countless natural and cultural features.
For this purpose, the explorations are divided in four different exploration zones – each with its own set of unique geographic, cultural, and biosphere characteristics.
All the explorations take between 2800 and 4700 meters above sea level (9186 to 15719 ft) for which you will require special acclimatization to help you adjust to the altitude. All explorations require suitable clothing for active outdoor pursuits, and it’s recommended to bring all the necessary Sun protection. The key to comfort and warmth is layering. Warmer clothing is necessary when climbing heights and walking in the early morning or afternoon.
