Full-day Jose Ignacio
The small village of José Ignacio on the southern coast of Uruguay is one of the best-kept secrets in the country and arguably the chicest spot in Latin America favored by jetsetters from around the world. While most tourists miss the chance to visit this gorgeous spot, we can take you there with our full-day guided tour just outside of Punta del Este. Even the drive up to José Ignacio is amazing, boasting breathtaking views of resorts like La Barra, Manantiales, El Chorro, Balneario Buenos Aires, and Punta Piedras. Arriving in José Ignacio is always special hearing the sound of the waves of the Atlantic Ocean breaking onto the beach and feeling the gentle sea breeze. The tour also heads out to Montoya Beach, a beautiful beach that stretches across José Ignacio with a relaxing atmosphere and the perfect place for sunbathing, chilling and enjoying a cool drink of your choice. Things are a little wilder at Bikini Beach which is frequented by the more active beach goers of José Ignacio. Just a few minutes from Bikini Beach, with its warm water and friendly people, lies the most amazing beach resort Manantiales’ Terrace. Lunch at Los Negros Restaurant from famous chef Francis Mallmann. From 1993 to 2006, Mallmann ran Los Negros restaurant in a small stone house by the lighthouse. The name Los Negros came from the former owner, the negro Urbin, an old local family who owned the houses, Los Negros y los Rubios (the blonds). José Ignacio is the perfect getaway from the noisy city to relax and enjoy the sun!
