Day 2: Buenos Aires

Half day Classic city tour (Private tour). Enjoy a three-hour sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires, a cosmopolitan city that reflects the rich heritage of the numerous immigrants that shaped Argentina’s capital. The tour starts at the historic Plaza de Mayo square, the scene of influential political manifestations. The square is flanked by the Government House, better known as the "Pink House”; the Cabildo (the old City Hall) and the Cathedral. Further south, visit the picturesque port neighborhood of La Boca with its famous colorful street "Caminito", and its unique architecture and customs that reflect the influence of the European immigrants, especially Genovese sailors, who settled along these shores at the end of the 19th century. The tour continues towards San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Settled by immigrants, the neighborhood has preserved most of its architectonic heritage and boasts lovely cobblestone streets lined with colonial houses. Next on the tour is the modern, well-heeled district of Puerto Madero and Palermo neighborhood with its elegant residences set among large green spaces. The tour concludes in Recoleta, Buenos Aires’ most sophisticated and upscale neighborhood.

Day 3: Buenos Aires

Half day Tigre and Delta (Private tour). Departure from the hotel towards Tigre, passing by the neighborhoods of Olivos, where the President of Argentina resides, Martinez, and San Isidro, known for its neogothic-style Cathedral and artisanal fairs. Tigre is a lovely neighborhood situated in the delta of Paraná River. The area was first colonized in 1580, but it was not until the last years of the 18th century when people settled in this area. The first inhabitants were smugglers that took advantage of the labyrinth of little rivers and isles to hide and to enter with goods, evading the customs taxes. Finally, in the last years of the 19th century, it turned into the favorite place for recreation of he high class of Buenos Aires.

At the dock, board a boat to sail through different rivers and streams of Parana’s Delta. The delta gathers several little isles covered with abundant subtropical vegetation, crossed by channels and streams, making it an ideal place to relax in touch with nature and pure air. Highlights of this boat ride include picturesque houses, rowing and yacht clubs, old residences making contrast with wooden houses built over piles to beat the constant floods, and the way of living of this community contrasting the fast-paced rhythm of downtown Buenos Aires. On Sundays, near San Fernando Channel the local fair called Mercado de Frutos takes place. Afternoon return to the hotel.

Board the train again to continue to Garganta Station for a 1200 m/4000 ft walkway to the Devil's Throat lookout, a truly unforgettable scene right on the edge of fall (be prepared to get wet and watch the impressive thunderous churning water below).
